Community / FGWB PH Journal
There is more than one way to be a builder.
Code, design, research, communities. There is room here for more than one kind of ambition.
Adapted from the For Girls Who Build PH primer. Programme descriptions reflect our plans, not an event schedule.
The word “build” is deliberately broad. For Girls Who Build PH is for girls and women who want to create something meaningful—not only those who already identify as engineers.
Start with what matters to you
An app, a startup, a design, a piece of research, or a community project can all be ways of building. The primer describes a community where different skills and interests can meet around real-world outputs.
That breadth is important. A useful product needs more than code, and meaningful community work needs more than a good idea. Research, communication, design, organisation, and technical work can each contribute to a shared result.
Different starting points, shared possibility
The community is intended for senior high school students in Grades 11–12, college students, young professionals and working women, and women founders and entrepreneurs.
These are different stages of life, not a ranking of who belongs. Accessibility and inclusivity are part of our focus because opportunities to learn and contribute should feel approachable to beginners as well as experienced builders.
Across the Philippines
Our long-term vision reaches across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. We aim to create more opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, and women-led initiatives—not keep those opportunities in one place.
If that mission resonates with you, introduce yourself. Tell us what you are curious about, what you want to create, or how you would like to contribute.
